Crenshaw/LAX Transit Corridor
Crenshaw/LAX Transit Corridor Project

The Crenshaw/LAX Transit Corridor Project is a nine-mile light rail that extends services between the existing Metro Green Line near the I-105 and extends north along Aviation Blvd./Florence Ave. to Crenshaw Blvd. to the Exposition Line. This project also includes the Southwestern Yard Maintenance Facility. PQM represented LA Metro as the Quality Manager through the APS, Preliminary Engineering, Bid and Award phases, and developed a Quality Management Program to increase consistency and reliability of the technical documents. This program implemented a robust quality assurance plan that continues to be maintained and monitored through the design and construction phases. PQM trained members of the design team to comply with the approved Quality Management plan and to implement corrective actions as necessary. Our scope also included initial Quality Reviews and audits and surveillances of the consultants.

PQM represented LA Metro by providing Quality Management Support Services. We reviewed Design and Construction Quality Management Plans, investigated the root cause of deficiencies, conducted surveillances and audits of permanent and temporary design documents, and ensured that the construction production was in compliance with contract and FTA requirements. We prepared audit reports which included findings, corrective action recommendations, and verification of implemented corrective actions. PQM monitored activities to ensure that all practices were in accordance with LA Metro and FTA procedures and practices.
